River Island
My work from River Island is focussed on email development. Although the design work for the emails below was performed by a dedicated department, it has regardless been my responsibility not only to ensure that the designs work from a technical perspective, but to correct them where they might not have, and even add some touches that improve them, too.
Responsys Subject Line Logic
Subject line logic for women and men as used in the Responsys CRM
Setting up logic to display correct parts of dynamic emails (women's, men's and kids') was straightforward. But a subject line? If a woman only wanted to receive emails about men's wear, then she would need to receive the men's subject line. However, if a man wanted emails that contained information about garments for both sexes, he would also need to receive the men's subject line. My solutions are below.

Emails
Suits
A fun email that was a little bit of a challenge to make, on account of there being two very different sections with graphical backgrounds that needed very different pieces of actual text imposed on top of them.

New Header and Footer render for 2018Just take a look at the email above, to see how different the header and footer became for the 2018 refresh. The footer in particular was a real challenge, in order to make it respect the original redesign as closely as possible!

RI KidsThis is where the standard for actual text imposed on a background was really pushed high. Just go ahead and resize your browser once you've opened the below email - or rotate your mobile device to landscape. Two very different designs using
exactly the same text!

Take TwoA fresh email with a very different delivery banner. I was provided an animated GIF with text with this one; a real challenge to strike the balance between steady, legible timing and transitions that are fast enough to hold interest.

Vitamin Sea
Hard work! This email really broke many of the team's established coding conventions, but I was able to turn it around in about 2 hours regardless. In addition, the design team hadn't set the bikini image up in a way that would fit the established product template, so much judgment and Photoshop knowledge came in useful here.
